1948 IBM Pluggable Unit and Ad Framed

This is an IBM Pluggable Computer Logic Electronics Unit for 604 Computer and also includes the Original Advertisement.  Both Pluggable Unit and original advertisement are displayed in 8” x 10” wood frame (desk display or wall hang).  Pluggable Unit is attached to front glass with Velcro Strip (easy to remove or reattach).  The IBM Pluggable Unit is marked TR-6 on top.  Tube is marked IBM E92CC.  This was a revolutionary invention by IBM in 1948 as the Vacuum Tube had all supporting logic electronics in one unit.  Computer failure could be easily diagnosed and a new Pluggable Unit quickly installed.   Included is the original IBM Advertisement for this Pluggable Unit called “Piercing The Unknown”.  This advertisement shows the Pluggable Unit with Vacuum Tube and below electronics that was made for IBM 604 Calculating Punch the most sophisticated machine of the time.  Pluggable Unit is 6” in length.   Advertisement is 10” x 7” and wood frame is 8” x 10”.  A portion of Advertisement reads “This IBM electronic tube assembly cuts through the unknown like a rocket through the stratosphere…...   This treasure from 40+ years ago will highlight any collection of IBM memorabilia.
