This is called "Consul the Educated Monkey" calculator that multiplies and adds with original Directions Card case.   It is a tin litho calculator stamped “Pat. June 27, 1916, and Nov. 26, 1918”.  Also included is the unauthorized reproduction called “Mr. Smart; The Educated Monkey”.  The combination 1916 Consol Monkey Calculator and Mr. Smart Monkey Calculator are rare and seldom found.  The original Monkey calculator was sold in the 1900s by The Educational Toy Mfg. Co of Springfield Mass.  It is in good operating condition with addition card and direction card case.  The reproduction Mr. Smart Monkey is in mint new condition in box.  The original Monkey Calculator Size is 6” square and the reproduction is 9” x 5.50”.  No calculator collection is complete without one of these rare examples that include reproduction.
